Helen Rose Training College of Nursing has accepted a joint venture with the tribal department. They have agreed to perform health assessments at 32 tribal children`s government hostels (each with 200-400 children) within a 200 mile radius. The health status is known to be very low with these extremely poor and needy children. They will travel out every other Saturday to do that work, and the reports back to the government will identify common needs and offer remedies. They have accepted this volunteer work because it is good for society. Pray for keen observation skills for our students and for quick government action on the most pressing needs.

20

China

The divorce rate has shot up 20 times in the past 20 years. The most common problem is extra-marital affairs, which account for nearly 80% of the cases. When public officials are involved in affairs, corruption, bribery and illegal deals are universally involved as well. "He who commits adultery lacks sense; he who does it destroys himself. " (Pro 6:32) We remember believer families wrecked by affairs. May the Spirit bring repentance in the corrupted hearts; may His mercy come and heal the broken hearts. We pray too for forgiveness out of the great love of God which brings about healing. (Pray for China)

21

Creative Access Country MM

Please pray for more water wells for this area of about 500 people (about 80 families) that have only one well. It takes about U$ 500 to dig a well. Pray for God to supply this need.

22

China

A year after the ethnic violence in Xingjian, the region is gradually returning to normal. This is a tense area where Muslim Uighur live side by side with Han Chinese. Many of the Uighur, however, do not speak Mandarin Chinese and so are unable to find jobs. Economic disparity and job discrimination are some of the issues of contention here. Ministry is hard there and not welcomed by the officials. Converts are ostracized from their families. The one bright spot is the college Bible study groups which target mainly the Han Chinese. We remember them in our prayers. (Pray for China)

23

Creative Access Country MM

Please pray for the local Christians' need of Bibles. One Bible costs about U$5 - the equivalent of 3 days wages in this country. May God touch more people's hearts to respond to this need!

24

Cambodia

Please keep praying for missionary Ms. Christina Leung in her language study and her service in the three childcare hostels. Pray for God to give her strength and wisdom in service.

25

China

Although the Chinese government has repeatedly said that it has no plan to abolish the Cantonese dialect, there have been recent protests to keep the Cantonese dialect strong. China has many dialects but Cantonese is the only one which has its own radio broadcasts and television programming in China. There are likely more than four thousand Cantonese-speaking churches worldwide. Many of them are very missions-minded and send out missionaries worldwide. We thank the Lord for the great work the Cantonese-speaking churches have done and we pray the Lord will call out more workers from these congregations. (Pray for China)

26

Ethiopia FMC

Jervaun Trier writes, "Pray for the Ethiopian Ammanuel Light and Life Church during a sudden and intense time of transition. Pray specifically for godly wisdom and strength for the church leaders."

27

Peru FMC

Pray that seminary studies taking place in four locations throughout Peru will continue to inspire young people. The Latin America Area Team, including Area Director for Latin American Ministries Dr. Delia Nuesch-Olver, has developed a mission to fuel and sustain an apostolic movement to reach Latin America for Christ. Please pray that this ministry can lead more people to follow Jesus.

28

Chile FMC

Tuesday Night Bible Study Fever! Weekly, nine women gather to form one of five new home Bible study groups in Comunidad Vida, Santiago's church plant to the virtually unreached people group of the middle-upper class. Pray that more people have their faith in Jesus through the Bible studies.

29

Mission Family Health

Praise God retired missionary Trygvar Brauteseth has come through recent surgery extremely well, reports his wife, Anne. "We are very grateful. There were no complications and the surgeon is so pleased. We praise the Lord for His goodness and for the support and prayers of our friends." The Brauteseths served FMWM in South Africa for 38 years.

30

Taiwan FMC

The challenge was given some time ago to increase the number of congregations in the Taiwan Free Methodist Church from the present 60 to 100 by the year 2015. This challenge was renewed at a recent pastors conference. Ask God for wisdom in finding clergy to fill the pulpits of 40 church plants or churches and in deciding where churches should be planted and how members can be trained for the task.
